Little Harbor- HarborChurch's Children's Ministries
Our churchwelcomes children as a vital part of our community. We are committed to servingour youngest members by providing a safe and loving environment for them toexperience the love and grace of Jesus. To adapt a familiar saying, we believe"it takes a church to raise a Christian." At Harbor PresbyterianChurch we take seriously our partnership with parents to nurture a child'sspiritual, physical and emotional growth. The goal of our Children's Ministryis to come along side parents in nurturing their children in their relationshipwith God through age-appropriate activities. We know that from birth, the loveand care our children receive will have a profound impact on their relationshipand understanding of our loving God. Your child will stay with you during thebeginning of the worship service. (The nursery will be available during thewhole service) Children will be dismissed during the announcements. We ask oneparent/guardian to walk your child to class and sign him or her in.

"Tugboats" (Infants to23 months)
We believethat babies are gifts from God and that we must treasure and care for thebabies entrusted to us in our nursery. We seek to nurture and love them asChrist would through our words, actions and attitudes. Our prayer is that yourchild will rest in God's presence as we create a peaceful atmosphere filledwith smiling faces, loving hearts and soothing praise music. We will exposeyour child to God's Word by reading simple Bible stories written for infantsand toddlers.

"Sailboats" (Ages 2 -4)
We believethat it is the responsibility of the church to assist parents in teaching andloving children according to God's Word. We use Bible study, crafts, music,games and memory work to teach our children. We aim to teach with enthusiasmand passion for the Gospel so that your child will find joy and excitement inthe Christian life, and will yearn to serve Jesus with all his gifts andtalents.
"Motorboats"(Pre-K through 2nd grade)
We believethat as our children grow so does their capacity to learn and understand God'sWord. So, with the use of interactive Bible study, singing, relevant crafts andgames we aim to use a variety of learning techniques to ignite the minds andhearts of our children.
"Speedboats" (3rdgrade through 5th grade)
We believethat as our children continue to mature they need a teaching method that bestconnects with their learning style. And, since all children are different weemploy a curriculum based on Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences.This methodology employs words, numbers, pictures, music, community, privatereflection and hands-on learning. Since children are created in God's image andare part of God's glorious mosaic of self-revelation we believe that this broadrange of teaching methods connects with our children and enables them to drawnear to the God who made and loves them.
