Bio - Roberto Shim
From 1980 to 1989, Pastor Roberto Shim resided in Argentina where he lived most of his formative years. After moving to New York, he received his call to enter full-time vocational ministry and began to study at Alliance Theological Seminary where he received his Masters of Divinity degree.
From 1997 to present, Roberto has served in churches both on the East Coast (New York and New Jersey) and West Coast (San Diego) of the United States. In the fall of 2003, God blessed Roberto with a wonderful life partner, Mana, who also shares the same passion to reach Hispanic people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In 2005 Roberto began to attend the monthly church-planter meetings hosted by Harbor Presbyterian Church. Through these gatherings Roberto met Harbor's church-planting team for San Diego's South Bay and Tijuana, Pastors Russ Kapusinski and Ramon Robles. In short order it became very clear that Roberto shared their same calling to serve the Hispanic people in the cities of Chula Vista and Tijuana. Roberto is also pursuing his Doctorate of Ministry in "Leadership and Organizational Management" through Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
Roberto summarizes their vision in this simple statement: "Our passion is to serve our Hispanic brothers and sisters with the Gospel of Jesus Christ".
